Problems with locks being forced on cars. Many victims are having their cars repaired before our SOCO teams have had a chance to examine them. As we have this current spike, our SOCO teams have been tasked to examine any car that has its lock forced, for any forensic evidence. Caroline, our Crime Reduction Advisor, is also talking to car manufacturers and will issue some advice shortly. In the meantime, if anyone you know has their car door lock forced, can you ask them to photograph the damage and email the photos to us on the intelligence email:

I have had a reminder through from our intelligence team - on frosty mornings, please do not leave your car running on the driveway with the keys in to warm up !!! If you must do that, please lock the car with your spare keys - you know it makes sense.

Finally - The police, The RBWM Community Wardens, the Housing Association and residents from Evenlode carried out a clear up operation yesterday which was very successful. Everyone thought it was a really good idea, residents were very happy and all the partnerships co-operated to make the day a success. Our thanks to everyone.
