Crime: 2 March 2010
"On Monday afternoon, 1st March, PCSOs reported that there were very large groups of schoolchildren gathering around the train station and called for back up, to diffuse the situation. The students apparently came from Altwood and Desborough Secondary Schools. Very suddenly things escalated and sporadic fighting broke out between a small number of students and one received a minor injury.
We have received reports that the gathering was pre-planned after an initial incident on the previous Friday, between 2 students. This is obviously of great concern and the behaviour displayed by some of those involved caused 'alarm and distress' to members of the public that witnessed it.
The Police are working alongside the local authority, British Transport Police and with the full support of these schools, to prevent further similar outbreaks and the police will deal severely with anyone that is involved in, or encourages, this sort of public disorder".
Anyone with information about Monday's incident, or any possible future gatherings, should contact the police on the non emergency number 08458 505 505 quoting URN 814 of 01/03/10 or, in the event of an emergency, by dialling 999." You can also call Crimestoppers completely confidentially on 0800 555 111. Or there is the NHW intel line - ringmasterintelligen@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk.
