Crime: 13 July 2010

I'm very pleased to say that there were NO burlgaries in the Maidenhead area over night.

We did however have four thefts from motor vehicle:

OLDFIELD/ BRAY:
Ferry Road, Bray, Maidenhead - Between 2300 09/07 and 0900 10/07 offender/s unknown stole the aerial off a vehicle.

MAIDENHEAD RIVERSIDE/ BELMONT:
Coln Close, Maidenhead - Between 2000 11/07 and 0730 12/07 offender/s unknown have stolen number plates from vehicle.

Blackamoor Lane, Maidenhead - At 2338 12/07 an off duty police officer witnessed suspects at rear of vehicle with the boot open secreting something in a t-shirt. U/k if anything stolen at this time. Suspects were arrested.

BISHAM/COOKHAM/HURLEY:
Marlow Road, Pinkneys Green, Maidenhead - Between 2000 11/07 and 0830 12/07 offender/s unknown have gained entry to vehicle by smashing the rear windscreen. Tool box stolen from boot.

As myself and Jeff were away last week, we were unable to report on a suspicious incident in Burchetts Green Road, Burchetts Green on 05/07/10. A male was found inside a property whilst the owner was at home. It is believed all doors were locked, therefore entry may have been gained via an insecure window, however one door may not have closed and locked securely.
On confronting the male and opening the front door, a further four males were found to be on the doorstep of the property and when asked what they were doing, they claimed to be delivering papers. The occupier of the house called the police and the males eventually left, making off in a Dark Blue Audi.

Can I just take this opportunity again to remind people to make sure front and back doors are locked securely. If you are sitting out in the back garden, ensure the front door is locked, just as if you're gardening in the front garden, be sure to keep the back door locked. In the hot weather it is difficult to keep all windows closed, but ensure that ground windows are secure if you are not in the room and that upstairs large windows are locked. If you have a ledge or flat roof below the window, avoid leaving it open altogether.

The number as always - 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers in complete confidence on 0800 555 111.
