Crime: 13 April 2011

Firstly – this is a copy of a scam email that appeared in my police inbox this morning. Many elderly or vulnerable people would easily fall for this scam – please warn them.

I 'm quite sure you are ok, but at this moment I am not okay. Please I want to ask you for a favor. First, I'm really sorry I didn't inform you about my trip to England. It was an urgent business/seminar trip.

I'm stuck in serious mess here in UK. I was attacked on my way to the hotel I lodged, although I wasn't hurt because I complied immediately but my mobile phone and luggage were stolen. My Credit Cards and some other vital documents were inside my luggage. I have called my credit card company and blocked all my cards and I have also been to the embassy to report the case. Aside these, I need to sort out some vital issues including my bills.

Please I need financial assistance urgently. I would like you to help me with 1500euros or any amount you could afford. I will refund you with interest upon my arrival back home. The situation i am here is really worse to the extent that i don't have any dine with me.I will appreciate your urgent response to my aid. If you wish to help me with any amount, you can send me the money via the western union money transfer service. Please also remember to simply put the phone down on security company callers and bin any emails you are getting from the Inland Revenue – they don’t know your email address !!!

CRIME:
HURLEY, COOKHAM, THE WALTHAMS, LITTLEWICK GREEN & SHURLOCK ROW:
11/4 – 12/4 Monday 6 p.m. / Tuesday 6.45 a.m. Black Butt Cottages, Sutton Road, Cookham. Grey BMX X6 index OV 59 AOA stolen from the driveway. The owner still has the keys.
11/4 Monday. Stone House Lane, Cookham. A neighbour heard a burglar alarm sounding and went to investigate. They found a window next to the front door smashed. Not known if entry gained or anything stolen. They probably made off as soon as the alarm sounded.
10/4 – 11/4 Sunday 8 p.m. / Monday 10 a.m. Shepherd’s Close. Car keyed.
10/4 Sunday 9.50 p.m. Strande Park, Cookham. A stone was thrown at a building smashing a window.
8/4 Friday 10.55 a.m. Farm, Burchetts Green Road. The owner saw a flatbed pull onto her drive and went to challenge the driver – she saw her copper tank on the bank. She tried to prevent them driving out, but they made off by driving through a fence. It was a white transit index P 641 TWS. The driver was white, tanned and around 25 years old.
1/4 - 8/4 Shurlock Row. Index plate stolen from a Horse box – index N 238 GJO.
12/4 Tuesday 7 p.m. / 10.20 p.m. Howe Lane, White Waltham. Out houses left insecure – 3 stables and a workshop – searched, but nothing stolen.
12/4 Tuesday 12.45 p.m. Waltham Road, White Waltham. Only a young person was home and looked out to see 3 men walking up the driveway. One went round to the garden, the other two opened the garage door. They stayed for about 10 minutes. Items were stolen from the garage, but they left behind a box of shotgun cartridges.

BOYN HILL, COX GREEN AND WOODLANDS PARK:
10/4 – 11/4 Sunday 7 p.m. / Monday 9 a.m. Kambourne Drive. Garden recliner stolen from rear garden.
3/4 – 10/4 High Town Road. Attempt to remove lead from the roof – left behind so the thieves may have been disturbed.
10/4 Sunday midnight / 7.25 a.m. Stamford Road. Burglary via UNKNOWN MEANS – CDs, PS3, laptops, wallets, tools DVDs, TV, keys and a Chrysler Neon index KF 02 XML stolen.

RIVERSIDE & BELMONT:
11/4 Monday 9.30 a.m. / 11 a.m. Ray Mill Road West. Child’s scooter stolen from a rear garden. The owner reports that 3 days earlier there were 3 suspicious lads in the road which she did not report to the police. They were putting leaflets through doors, 2 were going up and down driveways looking in windows. They were asking if anyone had gold or silver they wanted to sell.
8/4 – 9/4 Friday 10.30 p.m. / Saturday 8.15 a.m. College Road. For sale sign pulled up and pushed through a car rear windscreen.
9/4 Saturday 3.15 a.m. Belmont Road. The owner heard noises outside and looked out to see a group of lads damaging his fence.
8/4 Friday 11.30 a.m. / 12.30 p.m. Felstead Court, Bath Road. Flat door damaged.
9/4 Saturday 3 p.m. / 11.30 p.m. Ray Mill Road West. Burglary via friced rear window – laptop stolen.
8/4 Friday 1.10 p.m. Moor Lane. Owner heard a bang and found a patio window had been smashed.
7/4 – 8/4 Thursday 6 p.m. / Friday 10.45 a.m. Lassell Gardens. Paint poured over a car.
7/4 – 8/4 Thursday 5 p.m. / Friday 7 a.m. Company, Summerleaze Road. Secure yard entered – thieves climbed over a perimeter fence. Copper piping stolen.

OLDFIELD & BRAY:
11/4 Monday 2.05 a.m. / 3.25 a.m. Company in Stafferton Way. Shed break, not known if anything stolen.
7/4 – 9/4 Thursday 5 p.m. / Saturday 9.30 a.m. Rushington Avenue. Thief has used a tool to force a garage door lock, then cut the metal chain securing a Honda CRF 250 motorcross bike – which they then stole.

INNER MAIDENHEAD:
9/4 Saturday 11.30 p.m. Fotherby Court Group of lads fighting – car had a rear windscreen and side windows smashed.
9/4 Saturday 7.40 p.m. West Street. Car had it body panels damaged.
7/4 – 8/4 Thursday 6 p.m. / Friday 9.15 a.m. Brock Lane. Car front windscreen smashed.

PINKNEYS GREEN & FURZE PLATT:
12/4 Tuesday 8.30 a.m. / 12.30 p.m. Edinburgh Road. Side gate damaged in an attempt to access a rear garden.
