We have had some issues recently re the use of fake IDs across the area. Unless you are familiar with a company’s ID and know what they look like, don’t bother with them. It is a very simple operation to go online and download a company’s logo and laminate a passable ID. SO – NO-ONE GETS INTO YOUR HOME, UNLESS YOU KNOW THEM, OR THEY HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT. If you have meters inside your home that have to be read, phone the utility company and set a password ! It could not be simpler – but you have to remember the password !

I am getting enquiries about phoning the police. I have attached once again a NHW handout which sets it out very clearly. You must never assume someone else will phone, particularly about noise late at night – some people can sleep through anything. Please take responsibility if you have been woken up and phone through on the 0845 8 505 505 number /RBWM environemental services. If the noise escalates to - for example - criminal damage – that is a crime in progress and should be a 999 call. Please do not worry that other people will call – the more the better, it will help us track the offenders.
