RIVERSIDE & BELMONT:
23/6 Thursday 2.30 a.m. Belmont Crescent. The owner heard a noise in the night and went to investigate. As they looked out they could see someone tinkering with and shining a torch into their car. They turned on the light which immediately disturbed the offender who made off. Thieves are out there during the early hours, anyone just wandering around at that time, as opposed to walking home ‘purposefully’, should be reported to us asap. We will send out a car to have a word with them – they may need assistance ?? If they are legitimate they will not object to the help offered by the police, if they are up to no good, a visit from the police is in order – it could prevent one of your neighbours becoming a victim of crime !!
22/6 Wednesday 5 p.m. St. Marks Road. Thieves climbed on top of a wheelie bin and in through a window left open. They left via a kitchen window. Laptop stolen. A neighbour reported after house to house enquiries that she saw a suspicious lad emerging from a nearby house. He is described as : white, about 20, slim, 5’10, short hair – he may have been wearing a cap. Navy blue sweat / zip up jacket and navy blue track suit bottoms. He was carrying what appeared to be a full orange Sainsbury’s bag.
Have you seen this lad around ? If you saw a lad coming out of a neighbour’s drive – it may seem insignificant at the time – but if your attention was drawn and you thought it looked odd – it was. Their body language would have alerted you to a problem and drawn your attention. If in doubt – protect your neighbours and phone the PEC ! 0845 8 505 505
22/6 6 a.m. / 11 a.m. Harrow Lane. 4 sets of batteries stolen from temporary traffic lights. Did you see this happen ? They may have been wearing Hi Viz jackets ?? A case for JUST IN CASE !
