Crime:
25 July 2011
I am back
from leave, having climbed Stromboli it was the hardest climb yet
3 solid hours up, in 30 degrees of heat but I can still do it !
Quite a busy weekend from a policing point of view, 2 lads were arrested
in Maidenhead for a burglary non dwelling, and we have had
catalytic converters stolen from cars again in Windsor. Can you keep those
mobile phones with cameras at the ready all flatbed lorries,
suspicious people walking up and down our roads and any cars with their
rear end jacked up on the highway / car parks plus a photo of the recovery
truck please. To:
ringmasterintelligen@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk
Can I also suggest that you ask anyone who calls at your door if they mind
having their photo taken as a new NHW initiative ! Then send them
through to me on the intel line. If they are legitimate callers they
should have no problem, but it would be useful to know exactly who is out
there !
Serious sexual assault - Maidenhead
Sunday 24 July 2011, 5:57pm
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after a report of a
serious sexual assault in Maidenhead.
During the early hours of this morning (24/7), Thames Valley Police
received a report that a 16-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by a
man in Grenfell Road, sometime between 10.30pm and 11.10pm yesterday
(23/7).
The man is described as white, in his twenties or early thirties, medium
height or above, and muscular. He has blonde or mousey hair and was
casually dressed, wearing a T-shirt and jeans or trousers.
Insp Ian Smith, overseeing the investigation, said: We believe that the
victim and a friend were at the corner of Grenfell Road and A4 Bath Road
when they were approached by a man, who engaged in conversation with them
before sexually assaulting one of them.
The victim was left understandably shaken, but did not require hospital
treatment. She is currently being looked after by specially trained
officers.
We are carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area and have
conducted a forensic examination of the scene. Id like to reassure
people that we are doing all we can to find the person responsible and
urge anyone with information to come forward. Were particularly keen to
hear from anyone who saw the girls talking to a man on the corner of
Grenfell Road and Bath Road.
Uniformed officers will be carrying out reassurance patrols in the
area.
Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour or has any other information
which may assist police with their investigation is asked to contact Det
Sgt Dominic Found via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505.
If you dont want to speak to police or give your name, please call the
Crimestoppers charity 0800 555 111.
