Crime:
16 January 2012
I
have received a photo this morning from one of our members, of someone
wandering around their property, caught by the security lights. The man
walked off and the owners thought no more about it. I would have dialled
999 immediately. At that time of the morning, our shift response teams,
would have probably gone out immediately, if they had no other more
pressing jobs to attend and carried out an area search. If they found him,
they would have asked him, what he was doing at that time of the morning,
on someone’s property. We would then have a name and address, if
anything else was reported to us in the morning, when people got up and
realised something had happened overnight.
Next
we have recovered some lead in Windsor. If you have a lead roof can
you check it please ? You don't want to find out when it rains
and the water pours in !
15/1 Sunday Industrial Unit, Dedworth
Road. A business reported finding 50 kilos of lead hidden on their
property. We need an aggrieved – have you had this much lead stolen ?

16/1 1 a.m. Monday. Cookham Road. Car rear windscreen
smashed on a private drive. Nothing stolen.
13/1 Friday 11.45 p.m. Lovett Gardens X 2. A member of
the public found a car broken into. Another car next door was broken into
– Sat Nav stolen.
13/1Friday 4.30 p.m. Pearce Road. The owner was
having a nap when they heard someone knocking at the front door. They
decided to ignore it. The door bell went and they ignored that also. Later
they wandered out into the hallway to find 2 men standing there. They
immediately made off. If the owner had made any indication that they were
home, this would not have happened. You don’t have to answer the door,
but the person outside needs to know the house is not empty. By remaining
silent, the men thought no-one was home. Flash some lights, turn on the
radio, move a curtain, but you need to do something. Better still, leave a
radio on tuned to a talk radio station so that anyone outside can hear
talking – you may then just be in the bath.

PINKNEYS GREEN & FURZE PLATT:
pinkneysgreen&furzeplattnhpt@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk
14/1 Saturday 3.30 p.m. / 4.15 p.m. Pinkney’s Road. Burglary
via forced rear patio doors using tools found at the property –
jewellery stolen. Thieves cannot walk around with any tools that might be
used to break in – we know most of our offenders and they are regularly
stop checked and searched. If they are carrying tools, they are likely to
be arrested for ‘going equipped’, so they are very careful to carry
nothing. If they then do locate an easy target for a burglary, first, they
look around for tools. Please make sure these are secured. Shed / garage
windows should be pained white or obscured in some way so that they cannot
see tools inside.
14/1 Saturday 1.50 p.m. / 8.20 p.m. Furze Platt Road.
Owner returned to find cat flap removed and inside the property. Thieves
may have removed the catflap and reached up to unlock the rear door using
the key possibly left in the door. Nothing stolen.
