13/4  Friday midnight / 6.30 a.m.   Australia Avenue .  Car driver’s window smashed – loose change stolen.

13/4  Friday   midnight   Windrush Way .  The police were out on patrol in the early hours when a car sped past them going very fast.  They immediately followed it.  After a short while the car stopped suddenly and 4 people starburst into nearby fields.  The police pursued them and 3 men were located and arrested.  It transpires the car had been stolen from Chertsey .  The police are out there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ready to respond to any call.  In this case they spotted the car – but it could have been you !  How often are you overtaken by a car, driving at reckless speed.  Often we just think what a terrible driver !  What we need to think is – that car looks as if it is up to no good – CALL 101 !

12/4  Thursday    10 a.m.   North Town Close.  Lead flashing stolen from around a window.

MEMBERS ADVICE:

This is yet another variation of the same scam to steal mobile phones, from tables in coffee shops.  We had one in Ascot high Street a few days ago.  Windsor Town Centre suffers with this problem all the time – the scam usually involves people with a map or postcards which they lay over the table then collect back in – with the mobile underneath !  NO PHONES LEFT ON TABLES IN RESTAURANTS !

Hi

I think everyone should know about something that happened to me in a local pub in Windlesham last week.  Two men came in - they were possibly Eastern European - with scruffy clothes.  One was wearing a hood, they looked a little out of place, so I noticed them.  They approached us and tried to put some leaflets down on the table - on top of our mobile phones ! - I knew what was going to happen next (I have seen this attempted in Rome and Paris ).  We both quickly grabbed our mobile phones and therefore their attempt at stealing them, was thwarted.  We immediately warned the Manager of the pub.
