Crime:
16 April 2012
Just
a reminder re those suspicious vans / flatbeds, driving around slowly,
looking up and down driveways. We
check every one that we receive from you.
This was a response I have just sent to someone in
Windsor
:
Hi
Jeff – I have checked the index supplied by your NHW member on PNC (the
Police National Computer). There
is actually a marker on the vehicle for it to be stopped for
investigation, relating to a theft in
Maidstone
,
Kent
.
Please
pass this back to your caller and ask him to call us immediately, if he
sees it again?

Car window smashed – GLOVE BOX searched
– nothing taken. As
you will see from other crime reports – thieves are simply smashing –
particularly passenger side windows – to check the glove boxes for SAT
NAVs. The chances are – if
they select the car carefully – fleet cars – they will find one.
Replacing the window doesn’t cost them anything and it only takes
a second. If you don’t need
your SAT NAV don’t take it with you and please, do not leave them in Glove
