Crime: 6 July 2012

I have received a request from Danny Gomm over at the Borough to publicise the youth services provisions for the ‘Summer’ !  There is a brilliant programme of events which cost £3 per session, at our various youth clubs right across the borough.  There are sessions for 8 – 13 and 13 – 19 year olds.  There is something for everyone.  Follow the link below.

There are nine Youth Service youth centres across the borough, located in Maidenhead, Cox Green, Pinkneys Green, Windsor, Dedworth, Ascot/Sunningdale, Old Windsor, Datchet and Eton Wick.  There are also four projects that young people can get involved with: Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Outdoor Education Project, Get Active Rangers and the Youth Participation Project. The Youth Service also offer advice and support drop in sessions for young people through the Intensive Service.

Next some advice from Anne Chalmers our Crime reduction Advisor:

Hi Jeff,

Vehicle crime!

Would you help me, by send this information please:

‘Park Mark’ - Safer Parking Scheme.

Wondering where to park your vehicle in safety at a parking facility that is reviewed by the Police once a year?   There is a national scheme run by the Police and the British Parking Association that accredits such parking facilities.  Parking facilities that have achieved the award mean the parking operator has in place measures that help to deter criminal activity and anti social behaviour, thereby doing everything they can to prevent crime and reduce the fear of crime in their parking area.  The parking facilities also have SatNav post codes so you can use your SatNav to drive to them.  This can be particularly useful if going away on holiday in the UK or away for the day and want to find somewhere safe to park your car.    The web site that can give you all the information nationally of where these parking facilities are is:  http://www.parkmark.co.uk/
