Crime: 16 August 2012
First,
an update on the missing Shire Horse: Thank
you to everyone who tried to locate the missing Shire Horse, but she was
found and had died of natural causes. Our
grateful thanks. Next
– The Retirement Fair at What a brilliant day ! It is always a pleasure to meet you all and catch up – so many familiar faces. Thank you for your kind words. It is always so motivating, to hear that what you are doing is appreciated. It was bigger and better than ever and busy all day. If you haven’t been to one yet – keep a space in your diary next year. Next
some results of Intelligence interviews with offenders that have been
caught stealing bikes from Windsor.
We know most of the bikes have had their locking devices cut with
bolt croppers – very large pairs of pliers that can cut through metal.
The thieves are carrying these in the bottom of a back pack.
A hole has been cut in the bottom of the back pack, so that if they
see a bike they like, they kneel down beside it place the back pack on the
ground and appear to be searching for something inside.
In fact, they are operating the bolt croppers from inside the back
pack, via the hole in the bottom. They
then collect up the chain, place it in the back pack and ride off on the
bike !!! SO – you know what
to look for ! Anything like

Tuesday MEMBERS’
COMMENTS: First
– a warning from PCSO Andy Hitchcock who works in Hi
Jeff I
have just had a phone call from the RBWM
Parking Management Team. Over
the last few weeks, a company who has ceased trading, has been issuing
bogus parking tickets in RBWM car parks. Obviously
RBWM do all parking enforcement in their own car parks This
company, has been going around and ticketing cars, in the hope people just
pay the ticket online. The phone number just rings the web address did go
to a website, but it doesn’t seem to work now? I
have advised anyone who gets a ticket from this company, to report it to
the PEC on the 101 number, as a potential crime. The
company’s details are: CPES
PARKING MANAGMENT TRADING AS CIVIL PARKING ENFORCMENT SERVICES LTD. Please
could you put this warning out via Andy
Hi
Jeff, Possibly
others have received a call from ' I
said I didn't need mattresses, thank you. He was a bit
persistent but polite. Regards,

– SOMETHING WE TEND TO FORGET: Jeff Whilst
driving in the area on recycling collection day, I noticed packaging put
out for collection, which had held computers, games, TVs, Flymos etc.
It seemed to me that this was an advertisement that the householder had
got “new stuff”. Do you
think this is something to think about when disposing of packaging, or am
I being paranoid? Maybe the
packaging could be broken down or split and the info about contents turned
the other way? Regards Ann
Really
good advice – I usually put out a warning after Christmas - I often see
cardboard packaging left out on bin day advertising a new laptop,
computer, Hi Fi system new large plasma TVs and games systems etc.
the packaging nowadays is always large and very obvious.
Just crshing the boxes and turning them inside out would help !!! FEDEX
SCAM EMAIL: Jeff, I
thought you might be interested in this. It looks like another scam to get
people to give information. The email return address is nothing to do with
the FEDEX company Henry I
have copied the logo’d flier from the email into a separate document
(attached), so that you will recognise it, if you receive it.
