More possibly stolen jewellery we are trying to return to owners !

Thames Valley Police are keen to hear from residents in the Thames Valley , who recognise items of jewellery which may have been stolen.

A warrant was executed in Ruislip, Middlesex, by a neighbouring police force on 28 March, where items of jewellery were found.  Photographs of some of the items are attached.

A number of inquiries have been carried out to date; however officers are yet to trace the rightful owners of the jewellery. It is believed that some of the items have come from burglaries committed in the Thames Valley Police area.

I was contacted after my message earlier this week, by people who have lost jewellery in burglaries over the years.  Please examine the attached photos – not all the items have been photographed as yet.  If you do recognise anything, please make contact with Det. Constable Butler at Local CID in Slough , by phoning the PEC on the 101 number.  If you don't want to speak directly to the police, phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.

This is just in from residents in Shifford Crescent , after the police and the RBWM Community Wardens working in partnership with other partners have done an enormous amount of work there, to combat the ASB

Hello team,

Today I received a message from one of the residents who wanted to thank everyone in the team, for their hard work in the Shifford Crescent area.  Things have been much improved, in the last couple of weeks.  Local residents have also talked to some of the local shops, who also wanted to convey their thanks.

It is always good to receive recognition for the work we do !

MEMBERS COMMENTS:

Hi Jeff

I've just had a call, from a withheld number, from a chap purporting to be from the National Crime Prevention Campaign, which he says is a nationally recognised charity. He went on to say that they had security advisers working in (named our road) tomorrow, and the service was free for the over 50s.

I stopped him at this point, because I'm not over 50 anyway. Even if I was, I would not have agreed to an appointment made in this way, especially from a withheld number.

If it's a scam, perhaps you could let people know.

Thanks for your help

Hazel

Never, never, never accept, or make appointments from a cold call – you have no idea who the person is on the other end of the phone, whatever they say about themselves.  If you are concerned about your home security, simply email your Neighbourhood Team on the group email for your Neighbourhood above !  All our PCSOs are fully trained to carry out a Home Security Survey and make simple recommendations, suitable for you and your needs – and - it is free and independent !!!  They enjoy doing it and it increases their professionalism.

NEXT SOME GOOD NEWS !

I recently had a chat Sheila Holmes from OPAF – the Older Persons Advisory Forum - at the Retirement Fair in Ascot .  She is organising another computer training course for the over 60s, starting on the 19th September at the Braywick Field Centre.  This course is for those with some computer skills, but who want to improve and learn more.  If there is a demand for a beginners course, Sheila will put one on.  Sheila can be contacted at sheila-holmes@o2.co.uk  Please make contact with her, if you think either course would be useful to you.  She believes that as we get older, being able to use a computer becomes essential.

Application Form attached.
