OPEN
FORUM
Mr John Kellett of The Mount, Cookham Dean spoke against Pln Appn
07/00027. Mr Kellett handed out a plan of how the area had been originally
divided into Lots. He said that the application documents looked as if the
vendors simply wished to demolish and rebuild their home in another part
of their garden. However, this plan showed that their existing home was in
Lot 4 and the site of the proposed new home was across a jointly owned
road in Lot 5, making it a new property in the Green Belt. Cllr Wellman
said that this was a difficult application to determine because the owners
could argue that as they own Lots 4,5,6 and 7 they are replacing ‘one
for one’ which was often allowed in the Green Belt. Mr Kellett felt that
this was unacceptable development in the Green Belt and would be seen from
his home in addition to the surrounding area.
Mrs Lesley Fulker of Victoria
Cottages, spoke against Pln Appn 07/00045. She said that the cottage had
already been extended once and this new proposal would almost double the
size. She felt the proposal was un-neighbourly and would cut out light
from her property. One of the windows in the extension would be just 4
feet from her bedroom window; the gable would extend over the edge of
their property and their gardens would be over-looked. One of the previous
owners of this cottage had also replaced the glazed glass with clear glass
thus in breach of an earlier condition of planning permission. This new
extension would only exacerbate their lack of privacy. Cllr Wellman
thanked the speakers for their comments. He then asked the Full Council
for their approval to move Pln Appns 07/00027, 07/00045 and 07/00035 to
the front of the agenda. This was AGREED.
