COOKHAM PARISH COUNCIL Minutes
of a Meeting of the PLANNING COMMITTEE held at the Community Room on Tuesday, 24th April 2007 commencing at 7.30 pm PRESENT: Cllr
M. Barnes (Chairman), Cllr M. Wellman (Vice Chairman) Cllrs
M. Brar, P. Brockwell, S. Fairlie, D. Fry, G. Harris, M. Innes, J.
Stretton and H. J. Woodbridge. Also
present:
Nick Meakin (Maidenhead Advertiser) and two members of public. _________________________________________________________________________ OPEN FORUM Mr Gary Stevens and his wife spoke from the floor to give more details of their plans concerning Mulberry House. Mr Stevens handed out further correspondence between himself and RBWM and photographs of the property. In addition to an extension to the main house, Mr and Mrs Stevens are seeking to demolish an unlisted Coach house and erect a garage as a replacement building. Cllr M. Brar displayed a leaflet being promoted throughout the parish by the Conservative Party. She wanted to know why the Parish Plan had been mentioned in the leaflet when Mr Richard Simmonds had insisted that politics should stay out of the Plan. She asked for a letter requesting an explanation and the Clerk said that a letter had already been received from Mr Simmonds and a copy would be given to her. Mr Stretton then spoke to say that the piece was relating to actions that would be taken by Conservative Councillors after the Plan was finished and did not refer to the current content of the Plan. 1. APOLOGIES AND DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: Apologies were received from Cllr Piercey who had a business meeting out of the area; Cllr Fisher who had injured his leg and Cllr Ricardo, offered by Cllr Barnes, who was attending the Annual Meeting of Bisham Parish Council. There were no apologies from Cllr Coker. Cllr Brar declared that as a Borough Councillor she reserved the right to change her mind at a later stage. 2. PLANS CONSIDERED & DISCUSSED:
3. COMMENTS ON RECENT APPLICATION FROM RBWM TO DECRIMINALISE PARKING ENFORCEMENT POWERS: The Council felt that this was a generic document with very little of specific relevance to Cookham. However the Parish Council supported any initiative by RBWM that would ease the parking situation in Maidenhead at present. This response was proposed by Cllr Fry seconded by Cllr Wellman and AGREED unanimously. 4. CHAIRMAN’S SUBMISSIONS: The Clerk reminded Councillors of a Stakeholders Meeting on the 30th April 2007 at the Town Hall at 6pm. This is held by the Planning Department and is often a useful meeting for those interested in development in our area. Cllr Wellman said that he would attend but we are entitled to two representatives. An Emergency Meeting will also be needed to look at an amended plan for a property in Mill Lane. The Clerk will ring round Cllrs once she has more details. Cllr Harris told of a tree in Cookham Dean that was being taken down without permission – he suggested that they should check with RBWM before going any further. The meeting covering part one
of the Agenda closed at 8.15pm |
