present:
PC Val de Haan; Frank Smith (Marlow Free Press); Nick Meakin
(Maidenhead Advertiser) and four members of the public. _________________________________________________________________________ Before the meeting began, Cllr Harris presented the winners of the Garden in Bloom Competition with their certificates. Award winners included: Mrs Betty Bond (1st Prize Cookham Dean); Mrs Johnson (2nd Prize Cookham Dean); Mrs Galloway (2nd Prize Cookham Village). Other winners, Mr Fenner (1st Prize Cookham Village) and Mr Williams (1st Prize Cookham Rise), were unable to attend the meeting. OPEN FORUM – Mrs Sale spoke about the developments in Stubbles Lane as so many residents are extending their homes. She wondered whether there was any way to slow down the building work. The constant noise and dust was difficult to live with and the properties seemed to be getting larger. The Chairman assured her that the comments would be kept in mind but the Council could not do anything to delay the planning process. Mrs Betty Bond then spoke about the noise from Uncle Tom’s Cabin on karaoke nights. PC de Haan said that this was being investigated by Alan Barwise at RBWM. Cllr John Stretton promised to follow this up. The Council then voted to listen to PC de Haan before continuing the meeting. Over the past few months there were 25 recorded incidents after 2.00am. Anti-social behaviour figures were down by 42% figures which could be due in part to the two PCSO’s. Both PCSO’s had volunteered to work after midnight and at week-ends. PC de Haan then took questions from Councillors. 1. APOLOGIES AND DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: Apologies were received from Cllrs Barnes and Coker who had been called to a meeting of the Steering Group of the Parish Plan. Cllr Kellaway was on holiday. Cllr Hewitt’s apologies were received from Cllr Stretton. Cllr Piercey declared a prejudicial interest in Pln Appn 07/02428 and a personal interest in Pln Appn 07/02460. Cllr John Stretton declared that, as a member of the Borough Planning Committee, he reserved the right to change his mind at a later stage.
