members of the public. Nick Meakin (Maidenhead Advertiser) and James Nadal
(Marlow Free Press). _________________________________________________________________________ OPEN FORUM The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming the residents in the public gallery including two members of the Marlow Archaelogical Society, Mr Colin Berks and Joy Ballard. Mr and Mrs Munday from Selborne, Halldore Hill spoke against Pln Appn 08/00043. Although this application had already been discussed at our previous Planning Meeting, the Council had been asked to reconsider by the Case Officer, Victoria Gibson. Mr and Mrs Munday’s property is affected by this application but they did not receive their neighbour notification until after the Parish Council had held their Planning Meeting. They felt aggrieved that they had not had the opportunity to raise their concerns with the Parish Council prior to the Case Officer making a decision. They now took their opportunity to raise their objections to this application. Colin Berks made a short presentation about the importance of the Cookham area historically. Mr Berks encouraged the Parish Council to take an active interest in preserving the heritage of the parish. Mr Berks has sent a letter to the Clerk outlining his concerns that there was no section in the Cookham Plan concerning heritage and archaeology. He then summarised Cookham’s origins as a garrison town with over 3,000 soldiers back in 897. He said that the admin procedures at this time would have been the concern of the landowners and people from the church – the equivalent of an early Parish Council. He also said that he hoped Marlow Archaeological Society would be asked to carry out investigations in the extension at the Cemetery. 1. APOLOGIES AND DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST: Apologies were received from Cllr Jean Stretton, J. Hewitt and D. Fry. Cllr John Stretton declared an interest as a member of the Borough Planning Committee and reserved the right to change his mind at a later stage. Cllr Ricardo declared a prejudicial interest in Pln Appn 08/00207. Cllr Barnes declared that he no longer has a personal interest in 08/00240 and 08/00258 because his acquaintances have moved. The Chairman then asked permission to consider Pln Appn 08/00043 before returning to the formal agenda. This consent was granted.
