OPEN
FORUM
Fiona Hewer presented a petition of 160 signatures from residents
asking for action on road safety in Whyteladyes Lane. Miss Hewer gave a
report on the various statistics revealed by the survey. Cllr Martin Coker
then stood up and stated that the new road layout on the junction of the
Maidenhead Road was extremely dangerous with a number of incidents every
week. He said that the angle of the road was too severe and easy to
misjudge. The Clerk was asked to write to RBWM for action. Mrs Jackie
Power presented some pre-application plans for the re-development of the
Cookham Dean Post Office site. Mrs Power wished to retain the village post
office and shop which could be run by the residents. She also intended to
build 4 apartments for elderly people wishing to downsize their home but
remain in Cookham Dean. Mr and Mrs Munday spoke of their objections to Pln
Appn 08/01421. Their main concerns included the size of the extension and
the fact that without the garage, the drive would be too short to
accommodate their cars thus increasing parking on a narrow, steep road.
