Piercey declared a personal interest in Application No. 10/01342.

OPEN FORUM

Louise Turner and  Antonia Connor, residents of Alleyns Lane, Cookham, spoke about Application No. 10/01431 by Mr. R. Ground, which they are opposing.  As long-term residents in Alleyns Lane, and from their knowledge of the property in question, they dispute that the property has been let continually and that it meets the requirements for a Certificate of Lawful Use.  Both challenged the documentary evidence supplied by the applicant.  Louise Turner stated that contradictory evidence and a statutory declaration is being provided in opposition to this application.

In view of the interest from members of the public present, Application No. 10/01431 was the first Application to be considered by the Committee.

There seems to be significant doubt, due to evidence given by neighbours and no record of Council Tax being paid, that the property has been continually let.  This application should be investigated further and referred back to Legal Case Officer.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The Minutes of the Planning Meeting held on 6th July, 2010 were circulated and approved with no amendments, on the proposal of Cllr D. Fry and seconded by Cllr John Stretton.

CHAIRMAN'S SUBMISSIONS

1.         The request from Cookham Football Club for additional usage of pitches on the Alfred Major recreation ground by junior players, raised some initial concerns. Cllrs. M. Brar and M-L Kellaway highlighted current difficulties with parking in the area; and Cllr M. Coker commented on the effect this additional usage might have on public use of the recreation ground in general.

It was proposed by the Chairman, Cllr D. Fry, and seconded by Cllr M. Brar, that the Cookham Football Club be asked to provide further information in writing to the Council.

2.         The Chairman reminded Councillors of the Public Meeting being held on Monday, 26th July, 2010 at 6 pm in the Community Room, to discuss traffic/safety issues in Lower Road, Cookham Rise.   Tony Carr, RBWM Traffic and Road Safety Manager, will be giving a Powerpoint presentation.

The meeting closed at 8.45 pm.
