COOKHAM
PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes
of a Meeting of the PLANNING COMMITTEE held at the
Community
Room on Tuesday, 12th August 2003 commencing at 7.35pm.
PRESENT:
Cllr R. Arthur (Chairman),
Cllr H. J. Woodbridge (Vice Chairman), Cllrs. P. Brockwell, S. Fairlie, S.
Garrard,
G.
Harris, A. Hay, M. Innes, A. Prichard, J. Stretton, M. Wellman.
In
Attendance: Jane Griffiths (Maidenhead Advertiser) and 45 members of the
public.
OPEN
FORUM:
Mr Mark Covus spoke on
behalf of the residents of Halfway Houses objecting to Application No:
03/40573 – the extraction of sand and gravel on site of Old Sewage
Works. He said that the residents were determined to fight this latest
application for the same reasons stated previously. The residents would
resubmit copies of their original letters to the Parish Council and RBWM.
They would appoint a liaison representative to work with the councillors
and they would take legal action against Summerlease Ltd if necessary. He
also said that they are talking with the company with the aim of finding a
satisfactory compromise.
Mr
Robert Fraser, Secretary of the Odney Club also spoke about application
nos: 03/40538, 03/40539 and 03/40540 concerning the erection of a new
conference and training centre. He said that the aim was to provide better
facilities to members of the Odney Club. The courses would be residential
and therefore would not increase the number of cars using the Club. Cllr
Wellman queried the reason for the listed building consent. The architect
spoke to confirm that the store room adjacent to Lullebrook Cottage was a
listed building. The gardens walls are listed only because they are
attached to this building but some of the walls would have to be
demolished.
APOLOGIES
AND DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
Apologies
were received from Cllrs M. Brar, M. Coker, R. Piercey and D. Ricardo.
Declarations
of personal and prejudicial interest on Appn 03/40538 were received from
Cllrs M. Innes, A. Prichard and J. Stretton. They left the room and did
not vote. A declaration of prejudicial interest for Appn 03/40552 was
received from the Chairman who vacated the Chair and left the room for
this part of the meeting.
