OPEN FORUM
Mr Parnell from
Worster Road spoke of two reasons to object to Planning Application
03/40765 Demolition of Sandpipers and Laburnham Cottage to make space for
two houses and eight flats. He said the turning in to High Road was
dangerous, especially during the school term, and the roofline of the
flats was well above that of adjoining properties in the road. Fiona Tighe
of Myrtle Cottage thinks Sandpipers should not demolished at all but
perhaps refurbished instead. Jenny Smith of Graham Road was concerned at
the proximity of the planned development to the boundary of Graham Road
and Blenheim Cottage. She said that Graham Road could barely cope with
present cars and she had concerns on the construction traffic. Paul
Spencer of Cliveden View said that the development would almost double the
number of dwellings in the road and was completely out of character. Nigel
Lemons of Oak Cottage, Philip Stacey and Andrew Green of Graham Road and
Pat Davey of High Road also voiced concerns about the condition of these
roads and the extra traffic in an already busy area.
The meeting
started at 7.45pm.
1.
Apologies received
from Cllr S. Garrard. Declarations of personal and prejudicial interest
were declared by Cllr Gordon Harris on Appn: 03/40784 and Cllr Alan Hay on

discussion or voting.
2. PLANS
TO BE CONSIDERED
& DISCUSSED
| 03/40765 |
Demolition of existing buildings & construction of two
houses & eight flats with ancillary parking (OUTLINE).
SANDPIPERS
& LABURNHAM COTTAGE,
Worster
Road, Cookham Rise.
NM
& A Askwith. |
OBJECTION
|
|
Cookham Parish Council voted
unanimously to OBJECT. The proposals were considered to be an
over-development in a well-developed area. The development would
be un-neighbourly and give loss of light and privacy for adjacent
properties. Parking and increased
traffic would add further over-crowding to small un-made roads
that were already full. |
| 03/40730 |
Two
storey rear extension to provide additional
accommodation for both
flats.
DELHI,
Lower Road, Cookham Rise.
Mr.
& Mrs. C Brown. |
OBJECTION
|
|
Cookham Parish Council OBJECT due to lack of parking in
this busy part of Cookham Rise. Any further residential
accommodation would exacerbate the inadequate parking and make
Lower Road a traffic black spot.
