Chairman, Cllr H. J. Woodbridge opened the meeting with a one minute
silence to remember the untimely death of our Chairman, Cllr Dick Arthur,

up-to-date with the funeral arrangements in due course and had sent
condolences on behalf of the Parish Council. 1.
APOLOGIES AND DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:
Apologies were received from Cllrs P. Brockwell, S. Garrard, G. Harris and
A. Prichard. There was one declaration of interest from Cllr M. Wellman
– a prejudicial interest on Appn No. 03/41149. He left the room for this
part of the meeting. 2.
DEVELOPMENT IN THE FLOOD PLAIN:
Following the recent confusion last summer of a new flood map being issued
by the Environment Agency and then withdrawn days later, the Chairman
asked Councillors to address whether Cookham Parish Council should have a
Policy on development in the Flood Plain. Cllr Wellman said the flood
defence work had altered the flood plain and it was now unclear exactly
which areas would flood. He recommended following the F1 policy until a
new map is issued by the EA. It was agreed that once the flood maps are
confirmed, Cookham Parish Council should then set a Policy for
decision-making on any further development within the new flood plain
area.
