Identify a comprehensive and prioritised list of flood relief measures for Cookham.

To stimulate progress and to confirm that measures proposed by the Environment Agency are in the best interests of the community as a whole.

Discussions with Environment Agency.

If no independent review of the options is available, commission a consultant such as WRA to produce a master plan.

This should include consideration of flooding of Lulle Brooke, increases in capacity through and around Cookham Weir, reduction in flow across the Moor  and the effectiveness of existing bunding as well as measures to address specific local areas of risk.

 

2.                     

Implement flood relief measures

To reduce the risk and impact of flooding by the River Thames

Construct additional flood relief measures.

3.                     

Raise level of B4447

To maintain access to the village in times of flood (if not resolved by flood relief measures)

To minimise disruption to residents and businesses when roads are closed by flooding

Engineering surveys and maintenance of the Causeway bridge

To ensure that the bridge remains an attractive part of the Moor landscape and able to carry traffic at times of flood
