It’s now 3 weeks to go before Maidenhead’s popular Shrove Tuesday pancake race on March 8.

Entries are now open for local business teams to battle in out for the coveted trophy currently held by Sainsbury’s.

Businesses can enter as many teams of 2 as they like, with all entry fees (£15 per team of 2) being donated to a local charity. It doesn’t take up anymore time than your lunch hour so there is no excuse not to take part.

Competitors gather in the pedestrianised area of King Street for the first heats at 12.30pm when the first teams will race the 50-yard course ensuring they have flipped their pancake at least twice – judges will be on the course so no cheating!!

The annual challenge of the hotly-contested pancake race through the town centre will be a great chance for local businesses to have a bit of fun during their lunch time and is great for spectators too.
