Title: Road Changes
Post by: Pongo on April 05, 2008, 05:40:20 PM
Why is the council changing the road coming out onto Switchback from the road by Southwood Gardens? There are currently large orange and white barriers that block the view of people trying to get out of the side road. I am sure there will be an accident before they finish the roadworks. I cannot see any point on squaring off the road there at all. I am sure ratepayers money could be spent in something better.

It is to stop people flying round the corner into Maidenhead Road.  The majority of people turn into Maidenhead Road on the wrong side of the road narrowly missing cars coming towards them.  I am not sure the changes will help as people are still doing it, it really needs speed bumps put in.

You used to be able to stop there briefly without causing an obstruction. Now it looks like you won't be able to. ::)

There must be some reason for them spending quite a lot of money on doing something like that. BT I can't really believe the reason is that cars fly out onto the Maidenhead Road from the right hand side of the side road.
