Post by: Cookham Webmaster on January 22, 2018, 03:26:49 PM
from Cookham Parish Council

The Environment Agency has issued a Flood Alert for the River Thames from Hurley to Cookham.

The Parish Council is monitoring the situation closely and will make further announcements if action is required.

At the moment, the river level at Cookham Lock (upstream gauge) is 42cm which is more than 50cm below the level at which the Moor Road is closed by flood water.

If you see any flooded footpaths or other flooding problems please let the parish council know.

From Parish Council

You may have seen that Environment Agency's Flood Alert for the River Thames from Hurley to Cookham has been lifted.

The Parish Flood Co-ordinator and I held off emailing you an update earlier because we wanted to assess the impact of yesterday's heavy rain.

The river at Cookham Lock is now at 28cm (down from 44cm on Monday afternoon). It is rising, but only slowly.  Today and tomorrow are expected to be dry.  The picture is improving so we close this flood event.
