If you’re in Year 11, National Citizen Service is an exciting chance to do something different during your summer holiday. Taking part will let you:

    * learn some new skills
    * meet new people
    * make a real difference to your community or an issue you care about

National Citizen Service will take place during the summer after you finish Year 11. It will run for three weeks full-time, including two weeks away from home. After that, you’ll need to complete another 30 hours on a part-time basis. The cost is £50 and the rest is being funded by the government.

Working in a team (around 15), you’ll have the chance to take part in exciting outdoor activities like mountaineering, canoeing and abseiling.

You’ll also get the opportunity to design and deliver your own project in your local community. This could mean working with other young people to improve the area where you live, benefiting everyone who lives there.

NCS in our area is being run by:
Oliver Grey  (Oli works for the Berkshire Association for Young People)
