Mr Copas has again submitted planning permission for properties on the green belt on the land behind Whyteladyes Lane (ref: 15/03284 on the RBWM planning site).

Tanya has setup a Facebook site to manage communications and actions (link below https://www.facebook.com/groups/1480771278895955/)

Here we go again.... why does this land owner insist on building over everything in the Cookham/s... why don't they have responsibility and respect to the area that they also live in. If they want to live in a town, then they should go and move into a town.

Read the "Design Statement" on the planning portal and it is clearly put together by some well paid slippery consultant quoting every conceivable reference back to the Roman times. Just because this, that and the other was permitted years ago does not mean this has to be. Oh, and don't forget it is again to help the meet the desperate housing need and provide affordable accommodation, nothing to do with this greedy lot trying every trick in the book to squeeze money out of whatever they can in the area. Write in, complain, again...

he will crow loud about how essential it is to "maintain" the green belt of our countryside.
Here we go again.... why does this land owner insist on building over everything in the Cookham/s... why don't they have responsibility and respect to the area that they also live in. If they want to live in a town, then they should go and move into a town

This land owner is the sharpest tool in the chest.
He rarely misses a trick.
He's as slippery as an eel and twice as aggressive as a raging bull.

Never ever under-estimate the power nor the wiles of the Copas empire.
They invariably get what they seek - one way or the other.
They're akin to the infamous Chinese water torture .... drip drip drip drip ... till a hole is bored
or until no one can take the torture anymore.

He is a determined character who will keep persevering like a dog with a bone until he finally gets his way.
If he doesn't he will carp on about the wicked ways of all others blocking his every move...
He will use every trick in the book - housing in this instance - claiming that the shortage of houses in and around
the Cookhams is a disaster, a catastrophe, shameful ... and how he alone is the saviour by offering up his land to build on.

You never can tell with Copas Enterprises.... other than the fact that they look after themselves, first and foremost -
Their "caring" about the housing shortage must be taken with a bucket full of salt!
Selling their land at a premium is at the foremost of their minds .... and they own a helluva lot of land!

Field Shelters in fields where cattle have never grazed abound all over Cookham - all in readiness - to be used as
a precursor (they being erected constructions) to building on said land as and when the time arrives.

Write in and object at every juncture.
Failing to do so will open that chink that much further ... remember, drip drip drip ...

Hardly surprising really when the council announced the other day that they have to find room for an extra 712 homes per year,  as posted on this board just a few days ago.

This is all we need right now, another bl**dy stupid planning application when a good percentage of the village and its friends are busy fighting off a chicken farm.  But then perhaps that's another reason he's posted the application now - thinking that everyone is looking the other way and he'll slip below the radar.

This landowner seems to be behind a lot of changes in the Town (sorry - meant Village)!

I feel that we would not win the battle... as Cllrs seem to like having their pictures in the local press, congratulating themselves on urbanising the countryside with fizzy plonk.... (Bridleway 19).

I think they should go to 'Spec-Savers' as they are so short sighted, that they cant see that the landowner has just created a 'link' road to what was once a lovely Bridleway....

A 20 year plan...coming into play.... 'The Pound, Whyteladyes, Cannon Court Farm' and anything thing else that's for the taking....

I'm shocked at how quickly the area is changing.... and not for the better  Sad

The report has clearly had a lot of money spent on it, so it looks like Mr C is going for it with all guns blazing - the report reads as if it is a fait accompli that the houses should be built.
If the need for more affordable homes was so desperate why did the council not insist that nearby Payton Mews have any affordable homes built as part of that development.

That Tallmark is probably one of the best arguments there is.  The previous application was submitted at a time when the Borough had said there wasn't a need for more affordable housing in Cookham.  We need to get behind this like we have with the chicken farm and give the council a rough ride as well.  With all the development going on in Maidenhead right now there must be plenty of new housing stock coming along.

Is this the land owners last chance to 'Appeal' the application?

I think people of the Cookham's should boycott his Turkeys and anything he has to do with the area.... we need to make a stand!

Just a property developer disguised as a farmer....

Richard Copas has submitted the application and he is a developer (albeit a farmer's son)!

It's called diversification, tudorrose!

Farmer owns land, farmer's son submits building application (thus shielding Father),
Son develops land, Father Farmer looks on with affectionate and knowing broad grin.

Houses built on greenbelt land.

RBWM Councillors duped!

Farmers Son asks Dad for another tract of land.
Submits Planning application  .... repeat ad nauseum.

RBWM Councillors gather for yet another duping!

The End.

If Richard Copas has applied, he is Geoffrey Copas's son. Tom Copas is the man with the turkeys.

Does the genealogy really matter?

The important bit here is to get it stopped in its tracks.  Come on folks out with the pens, pencils, crayons and keyboards and get writing!

Paris it was suggested we should boycott his turkeys, so I was pointing out it is the wrong Copas.
