Lovely local three year old George Ferriman has been diagnosed with acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), he and his wonderful family are in the #fightforgeorge and there things we can all do to support them.  If you can, give blood or platelets and register as a stem cell donor, or if you are doing a fundraising event consider the charities working hard to help this family through dark times, such as Clic Sargent.

The kind people at Vanilla Hairdressing are holding a fundraising event, they posted the following information on Facebook.  Please go along if you can!

To all our lovely💖clients we are reaching out to you for your support.
A lovely little boy named George who at just 3yrs old has just been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. The Ferriman family are part of the community and we feel at vanilla we would like to give something back so...
 Sunday 3rd April 9:30-1:30
We are hosting a blow dry and paint athon..minimum donation is 15 but you can give as much as you wish. All the money raised will go to George to put a little smile on his face and make life in hospital a little brighter.
So please come and give your support, life is precious.💜

An awful disease as our family can testify. Results are getting better now though and there are new treatments all the time. Good luck George and family.  Smiley

Thanks Wannabe

I hope the blood donation session at Pinder hall has had lots of drop-ins today, even if they can't accommodate you it will help them to know they need another session here soon.

Unfortunately my blood isn't usable due to the meds I take but I do know that for AML a huge amount is needed. Who knows? it may be you that needs some...

Thanks JoJo, we are trying to get them to put on an extra session because of the dozens of new or lapsed donors who want to #fightforgeorge but if they can't do that then there is a session in the Magnet at the end of May or another in Pinder Hall in June.  There are more in Bourne End and Marlow towards the end of May through to July.

It would be great to get an extra session in the village soon though, so there is room for the new as well as the regular donors.

You can also donate platelets in Oxford, these have to be used within two days so it is vital that people do this too!

In the mean time, don't forget to pop along to the event at Vanilla on the 3rd April.
