Lara Cory

Lara ( is wondering if anyone in the area has ever worked at Bray Studios - especially back in the 50s/60s.

Lara is helping the Maidenhead Heritage Centre put together an exhibition and they're looking for any old props/costumes/posters/signs/equipment to display.

Yes I remember Bray Studios, where I played a constructive part with props in the filming of "The Camp on Blood Island," in the autumn of 1957. Val Guest the  director wanted some fake palm trees planted and some graves dug with a backhoe.
I was working for Fred Myers in Windsor at the time, I was landed with the job of using the demonstrator back hoe at the studios for a week digging holes and filling them in again as required. I guess from that, my present day interest in videos was sparked. I remember the props  department used Heinz Ketchup by the gallon! Also this is where I saw my first rushes of the previous days production.
