To set the record straight, apparently the gate was locked and the travellers cut through the chain.

Surely if they have cut the chain this is now criminal case and the police can get involved?!?!?

I was planning to moor up at Cookham this weekend, but I think I will go elsewhere now. I assume that marsh Meadow is the feild by the river?

The Police were called before the travellers moved in to the car park, 2 caravans pulled in to the car park and and then came out again, the others just blocked the road it was chaos. The police arrived pretty quickly in 2 vehicles, one marked and one unmarked, they then chased a few off. One even went down Berries Road. The Police then seemed to allow them access to the moor as they were still there watching as they drove in....then a few that had originally went away came speeding back. All under the watchful eye of the police

For all the views that they have cut through a chain and would be moved on shortly, there doesn't seem to be any sign of the travellers moving on. Is there any way of following this up with the authorities? Particularly if they have indeed moved into the Moor illegally.

The Police need a witness or a video to show the chain being cut.  The travellers will just say "it was like that when we arrived".

Apparently the police decided to let them in as it was causing traffic chaos.

There's more and more of them every time I pass by. Is anything being done to get them moved on?

Will the scout fair take place there if the travellers are there?
