LET’S ROCK THE MOOR 2017.
Distribution of funds to local causes.
Following another highly successful concert in May, “Let’s Rock the Moor” has yet again set a new record for the money it has raised for charity. Subject to the final financial audit, it looks certain that the 2017 concert will have raised over £40,000! The organisers have agreed that 20% of this money will be allocated solely to local causes in Cookham, so some £8,000 will be available for distribution by the independent Let’s Rock the Moor Local Charities Distribution Committee. The balance of the money will be divided equally between the concert’s three major charities, Child Bereavement UK, The Link Foundation and Wooden Spoon.
Local bodies who wish to be considered for funds need to submit a written application to the committee by 15th November 2017. Applications may be submitted on line to Alicia Wallis at Copas Farms (
aliciawallis@copasfarms.co.uk). When applying, organisations need to take into account that the event seeks to benefit causes which focus on children and families and that applications should ideally be for a specific sum, targeted at a particular need, rather than just general fund raising.
