What the hell happened to 'Hunts Mans Cottage' ? Its gone / pulled down.. and now an 'Ascot House' is being built in its place.... I wondered what the ugly building was I could see from the Whyteladies lane.... !

Poor Huntsmans cottage.... that has really changed the look and feel of Cookham Dean..... along with the scalpings, widening or the 'Kennel Lane' footpath - cough ROAD !

For information the deadline for the submission of nominations has been extended from 31 December to 7
January so there is still time to participate in this year's Award scheme. .

Were there not enough entries then? To be honest I think it's a bit of a waste of time. The kind of people wrecking Cookham with the kind of building we're currently seeing going up are probably not the slightest bit interested in getting any kind of award, any more than they are interested in what was a cosy village.

Exactly Paris - WAS a nice village.

I wonder if there is a way to find out who is approving / voting and abstaining to swing the votes for such changes in cookham?

I really like looking through the published Cookham books to see what it was once like... I wonder if the next generation will also be looking back and thinking WTF happened ??
