Dozens of Berkshire areas have infection rates above the national average - new data shows.

The national average rate of coronavirus is 356.1 according to figures released today by Public Health England (Thursday, November 11).

However, there are a number of neighbourhoods in Berkshire where the infection rate is soaring over the national average.

In total, figures show 41 middle layer super output areas in the county to have above-average rates.

Tilehurst North in Reading is the area with the highest as of November 6, recording a rate of 476.3.

Coronavirus rates are also spreading more in Spital & Cranbourne Park, which comes under the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. It recorded a rate of 470.5 - which is over 100 more than the national average.

In third place, is Barkham & Woose Hill in Wokingham, which reported an infection rate of 468.5.

Great Hollands is the area with the highest coronavirus rate in Bracknell Forest which reported 467.4.

Meanwhile, in West Berkshire, Theale & Beenham is the area with the highest infection rate, reporting 437.7.

Stoke Road and Wexham Road have the highest infection rates for Slough, reporting 417.9 cases per 100,000 people.
