A
comprehensive feasibility study firstly for a road across Poundfield
to Terry’s Lane to enable a new one-way system to address traffic
problems and especially safety in The Pound and by the Nursery School;
and secondly for the provision of sheltered and affordable housing,
parking and open space. We also propose a 7.5 tonnes weight
restriction on vehicles from Sutton Road to the west end of The Pound.
-
A
new car park in the corner of Marsh Meadow and the closure of the
existing parking area on The Moor, to provide more parking closer to
where it is needed and to improve the appearance of the Moor.
-
A
new car park and access to Holy Trinity School in Sutton Road, in
order to reduce traffic in School Lane, improve safety, provide
additional parking and with traffic calming measures, slow speeding
traffic in Sutton Road.
-
Improvements
to access and parking arrangements at Cookham Rise Primary School and
the Alfred Major Recreation Ground in order to reduce congestion and
improve safety in High Road.
-
Improvements
to Station Parade: we address numerous features which we believe would
bring this important focal point of the Village up-to-date and make it
more attractive.
-
Support
for keeping the Medical Centre (and any extensions needed) in the
heart of the Village, to encourage the continuation of high quality,
comprehensive and easily accessible health facilities, and improve
safety and ease congestion in Lower Road.
-
Additional
sports facilities adjoining the Cricket Pitch (using the existing
access from Whyteladyes Lane) to make greater provision for Village
residents, and especially for the young.
-
Additions
and improvements to our footpaths and cycleways, and the provision of
more and better information and facilities for tourists to increase
their safety and help them enjoy the area and to benefit local
businesses.
