115 million The net profit after tax in dollars announced by Air New Zealand for the six-month period ending December 31, 2007, up 58 per cent on the same period in 2006. The carrier says load factors were also up 5.3 percentage points to 79.4 per cent.

300,000 The number of Easyjet customers set to fly with the airline over the Easter weekend from its London hubs (Luton, Stansted and Gatwick). The airline says it will carry a total of 500,000 customers throughout its network over the holiday period.

135,658 The number of passengers passing through Southampton airport in February. The figure is up 6.6 per cent on the same period last year, with the most popular routes being Edinburgh, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle, Guernsey, Jersey, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin and Leeds.

20,000 The number of Qantas staff being sent to “charm school” according to Australia’s Herald Sun newspaper. The initiative is part of a multi-million dollar programme of training and promotion ahead of the delivery of the carrier’s first A380 aircraft this October.

728 The number of weekly flights to be operated by Etihad Airways this summer. The figure is up from 494 in the same season last year, with new services to Beijing starting on March 30 and Calicut in June.

Four The number of new airlines to operate from Changi’s Terminal 3 from March 26. China Eastern Airlines, Jet Airways, Qatar Airways and United Airlines will join Singapore Airlines at the new facility.

Three The number of A380 aircraft now delivered to Singapore Airlines. The carrier commenced flights to London Heathrow with the superjumbo on March 18, and has firm orders for a further 16 A380 aircraft, with options on six more.
