For all those who love to sing, John Hedger has been working for the last few months to organise Cookham Sings. Enthusiastic choral singers from both Cookham and elsewhere got together at the Odney Club with the aim of performing opera choruses ‘from scratch’ under the Direction of Ralph Allwood, who is the Director of Music at Eton College. Rehearsals were on Saturday morning and afternoon. There was then a performance in the evening.  With a mixture of sopranos, contraltos, tenors, baritones and basses, the result was breathtaking.
