A REALLY GOOD 24 HOURS !

Michelle one of our scene investigators visited a gentleman in Windsor yesterday and this is her report !!!

Just to make you aware that suspicious callers are on the prowl again in the Windsor area targeting elderly residents. This incident involved an elderly man who left his front door ajar for the home help. At around 3 p.m. on 4th May. A man walked in, saying he had come to repair the roof. He said he was the odd job man and that it would cost £14-£15. The owner said that the Housing Association takes care of all the repairs. The man then asked if he could use the toilet & the owner let him. Thankfully, the man then left without taking anything, but the owner said he was very pushy and getting quite aggressive.

Description: White, weathered complexion, 50s, medium build, 5’6’’ / 7’’, dark brown straight hair, no facial hair, no tattoos, no jewellery, not carrying anything, London accent. He was wearing a shirt and trousers ( colours unknown). No car / van was seen.

We have a continual problem with elderly or vulnerable people leaving the front door ajar for home helps, carers or district nurses. This increases their vulnerability. If you know anyone in this situation please let your PCSO or me know. Through funding we obtained under Safe as Houses, we can have a key safe fitted somewhere near their front door – free of charge if they are elderly or vulnerable. Caring services and neighbours would then be given the number to come and go.
