Neighbourhood Policing

If you are reporting a Crime in Progress you should always immediately dial 999.

If you are in distress and need a policeman dial 999. It is the 999 operator that determines whether or not you get the immediate response - so - without abusing the system - if you need a policeman dial the number.

For any other communication with the police you should dial 101.

You are then presented with a press button system.  If you are reporting a crime please press 1 and you will be connected to the PEC. If you happen to be aware that the crime you are reporting may be part of an ongoing situation for example more than one car damaged, please make the PEC aware and give them as much detail as possible. You may be completely unaware, if so no problem.
