Crime: 7 October 2013

The safe that was found being wheeled away by three offenders, was from a coffee shop.  Another safe has now been taken from a school !

Whilst we are having few burglaries, if you feel you would like a PCSO to come out and carry out a Free Home Security Survey, simply email your Police Neighbourhood Team.  I have included the relevant email addresses below your Neighbourhood Heading.  Can everyone prepare for our traditional burglary hotspot of October / November, when the clocks go back and we have darker evenings, before most of us are back from work ?  Start amassing timers and making sure door & window locks are fit for purpose and working well.  Think about installing an alarm, if you don’t have one ?
If you see letters / freebie newspapers, sticking out of your neighbours’ letterboxes, please push them through and make a note of the sender.  We have agreements with local newspapers that they instruct their deliverers to make sure they go right through.  If they are not doing that, we can let them know.  They can check from the name of the road, who is not doing this properly and remind them.  Same for bins please on Bin Day.  If your bin has not been pulled in by midday – you are not at home !
