Crime:
12 August 2013
If
you have emailed me and I have not yet replied, I do apologise.
After being away, there are over 800 emails in my inbox ! I am
working my way through them.........slowly
Thames Valley Alert has just been updated
over the weekend by VisaV who manage the system and emails have been sent
to nearly 1,000 members, asking them to update their email addresses.
I am working through those updates ......as well.
I consider the messaging, my most
important priority, so that you know what is happening now – today.
The rest will have to fit around that.
Apologies therefore, to all those waiting
to hear from me.
If you have submitted ‘intelligence’,
I am forwarding that immediately to the teams that need to know, and will
acknowledge with you in due course.
Keep it flowing. As you can see –
so much crime occurs in the early hours, we really need you to be our eyes
and ears and direct our resources, where they are really needed. We
will only be second guessing.
We had two cases of purses pickpocketed from
a Supermarket in Sunningdale yesterday. Please
keep them safe and secured, well inside a zipped up handbag.
Everyone needs to be aware of who is around and behind them – how many
times do you have to say ‘sorry’, because someone has walked into you,
or you have walked across someone’s path, or you were in someone’s
way, but miles away thinking about something else ??? Pickpockets
can spot that body language, a mile off.
There was also a burglary in Ascot
where the thieves were clearly looking for and knew about a safe inside
the house. The rear dining room door forced.
Looked for master bedroom and dressing room, ignoring other rooms,
searching for a safe, which they removed. Jewellery and cash stolen.
If you do have a safe, you must tell
no-one of its existence, let alone where it is and what may be inside.
Next a scam which was operated in Windsor
9/8 Friday Food shop, Peascod Street. The
aggrieved was paying with her credit card. A man interrupted her and
pointed to a £20 note on the floor. As she bent down to pick it up,
he withdrew her card and left the shop. He had seen her pump in her
PIN and immediately went to a nearby Building Society where he attempted
to withdraw £300. That was rejected, but he was able to withdraw £190.
The staff tried to locate the man once they realised the card had been
taken, but without success. CAN
EVERYONE BE ALERT TO THIS SCAM PLEASE ??
A mobile phone was stolen from one of the bars in Maidenhead. The
owner was young enough to know how to activate the Tracker software !
It located the phone in Iver. I am yet to hear if it was recovered.
EVERYONE
WHO OWNS A SMARTPHONE, SHOULD KNOW HOW TO DO THIS ! THE TECHNOLOGY
IS ALREADY VERY ACCURATE AND READILY AVAILABLE.
