Cookham Rise School and the Alfred Major Recreation Ground

Parking in High Road for the School and Recreation Ground presents a considerable problem and hazard, and the Steering Committee has investigated a number of alternatives to address this. We believe that cars connected with the school should not be parked all day in High Road.
Accordingly, taking into account the restrictive covenants on the Alfred Major Recreation Ground, we recommend:

The widening of the existing (eastern) access to the rear of the school and Recreation Ground;

The creation of additional parking on and possible extension of hard-standing at the rear of the school, for school and recreation use;

The creation of extra school playing space on the Recreation Ground, intruding as little as reasonably possible onto the Recreation Ground;

That the car park should include sufficient space for a potential school bus.
