annuitants. ELTA is part of E7, which consists of the seven Equitable
action groups who have all combined in their fight for government
compensation. The co-ordinator of the group is Peter Scawen and he can be

we are to take effective group action to obtain compensation for trapped
Equitable WPAs we need much more information on the experiences of fellow
members. We need to work together and would very much appreciate your help

An
annuitant has received a letter dated 7 Jan 2004 from the Client Servicing
Centre at ELAS:
Although the basic annuity does remain guaranteed the Society felt it
was appropriate to remove the word 'guaranteed' as our members did not
feel the word guaranteed reflected the fact that the guaranteed annuity
reduces on each anniversary. The guaranteed annuity cannot be reduced by
any other means than that written into the policy.
